While college students are more likely to be targeted for lawsuits involving illegal file sharing, don’t you think that illegal file sharing by non-students would be easier to prove? After all, there are a lot more shared computers at a college. A PC at a residence would likely have fewer users. The riaa no way to track file sharers rumor is not necessarily true. They can link a PC IP address back to its owner. Of course, it can still be difficult to determine which PC user is the one who performed any illegal downloading on it. For example, one little old lady was arrested for illegal downloading, but claimed her granddaughter did it.
